Do you have a letter we can send home with the Screener report?

The below text can be used and modified as a template for a letter to send home to parents explaining the True Progress Screener report.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Dear Parents,

This year, our school is utilizing the True Progress Screener assessments in Math and English Language Arts (ELA). These brief, adaptive assessments provide us with a quick snapshot of each student's current learning level and progress.

The True Progress Screener consists of 30 adaptive questions per subject, typically completed within one class period. The adaptive nature ensures questions adjust based on each student's responses, keeping the assessment relevant and appropriately challenging.

It's important to note that the True Progress Screener is just one piece of the broader assessment process. We combine these results with other critical indicators of student learning, such as quizzes, tests, homework assignments, class participation, projects, and teacher observations. No single score or assessment defines a student's learning entirely. Instead, we look at this portfolio of indicators collectively to get the most accurate and complete understanding of your child's academic progress.

Enclosed, you will find the latest Screener reports for your child. If you have questions or would like to discuss your child's learning further, please reach out to us.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

Warm regards,
