What is a Progress Rate?

An explanation of the Progress Rate statistic

Updated over 5 months ago

The Progress Rate enables you to evaluate student progress on a meaningful and standardized scale. Progress Rates are generated anytime a student has completed two tests in the same subject and can be located on the progress page of your Track My Progress interface.

  • A Progress Rate of 1.00 indicates progress at the rate of the national average.

  • A Progress Rate of 2.00 indicates a rate of progress that is double the national average.

  • A Progress Rate of 0.50 indicates a rate of progress that is one-half the national average.

You can see a Progress Rate for an individual student, a class of students, a grade of students, a school, and a district. Progress Rates are available for each subject (Math, ELA) and each of the domains tested for those subjects.
