Track My Progress provides powerful data analysis tools to help you make the connection between assessment data and student learning needs.

Upon signing in to your School Administrator Account, you will see a set of filters at the top of your screen. You can select different filters to provide a view of your data that will answer your questions. The filters at the top right, highlighted in red, allow you to specify the student or group for which you want to see data. You can choose data by grade, class, or individual student.

The filters on the left side (highlighted in red below) ask you to choose between the Profile view of your data and the Groups view. Next, you can view your data as a table or a graph. The next option allows you to choose between scale scores, percentile scores, and grade-level equivalent scores.

The next set of filters (highlighted in red in the picture below) enables you to choose the subject (ELA or Math) or a specific domain within those subjects. You can also select the specific test window and school year you want to view data.

Groups

The Groups filter is selected by default upon sign-in and presents a comparison of all of the grades at your school. You can then use the Grade and Class filters to define exactly which groups of students you would like to compare. In the below example, you are viewing the twelve grade one classes in a school compared by overall Common Core Math scores. It is easy to see that Class 1A and Class 1D are starting the year off well below the ten other grade one classes at the school and may need additional support over the year to close the gap with the other classes.

Profile

Choosing the Diagnostic filter presents you with the Common Core diagnostic profile for Math and Reading. You can use the Diagnostic to view data by grade, class, or student. In the below example, you see the Common Core diagnostic profile for Reading and Math for all grade three students at the school. Fractions is the relatively weak math domain. Reading Informational and Literature are relatively stronger than Foundational. A school administrator can continue to track this profile over the year to determine if relative weaknesses persist, which could indicate for adjustments in curriculum or professional development priorities. This graph is for the average of all grade three students, however, the format would look similar for a class or individual student.

Table

The Table filter is selected by default upon sign-in. The above examples show the table view. The Report filter will present a view of the data that includes all four test windows for the selected school year.

Graph

The Graph filter presents the data for a specific test window in a horizontal graph format. You may view data comparing grades, classes, or individual students by the horizontal graph.

Scale Score

The default view upon sign-in shows Scale Scores. The Track My Progress scale score indicates the level of Common Core State Standards knowledge and skill in reading or mathematics.Track My Progress scores are based on U.S. national averages and expressed on a common numeric scale across grade levels and subjects. You can learn more about Track My Progress scale scores here.

Percentile

Choose the Percentile filter to see your Track My Progress data presented as percentile scores. If a student is ranked in the 70th percentile, she would be considered to be above average. However, if a student is ranked in the 20th percentile, then she is below average. You can select the Percentile filter to see percentile scores for an individual student, a class, or a grade. You should not use percentile scores to calculate progress or growth scores as they are not linear. To learn more about Track My Progress percentile scores, click here.

Grades

Use the grades filter to filter the data you want to view by the grade level of the students. When you select a grade with the Groups filter, you will see the classes that comprise that grade. When a grade is selected with the Diagnostic filter, you will see the average strengths and weaknesses of all students in that grade.

Classes

You can use the Classes filter to select a specific class to see its strengths and weaknesses (Diagnostic) or a comparison of all students in that class (Groups).

Students

The Students filter allows you to select a specific student to see her Diagnostic profile of Common Core strengths and weaknesses.

Standards

The Standards filter is only active when the Groups filter is selected. By default, Math is the Standards default selection. Use the Standards filter to change the Common Core subject or domain by which to compare your students, classes, or grades.
